The A-Rod saga rolls on.....

The now famous Cashman A-Rod battle may actually come down to money – go figure. As we reported yesterday Cashman has apologized for his comments (kind of) about A-Rod Tweeting he’s been cleared to play from his doctor.

However, just like most great soap-operas, there is more story lying underneath. The Yankees claim that their dispute with Rodriquez has been taken care of. But, there is news out now that the Yankees are trying to recoup money by not having A-Rod come back. And that A-Rod is rushing his return in order to receive all the money possible before he gets a MLB suspension from his PED use.

Of course Cashman let us know publicly that he really regrets his response to Rodrigrez’s tweeting about his update on his recovery from his hip problem and being ready to return. And his famous “Alex should have just shut the (F-Rod) up.”

Hal Steinbrenner spoke with A-Rod on Wednesday in Florida to remind him that organizations not players will handle injury updates. And Yankee team president, Randy Levine also had discussions about team protocol.

“It was a constructive, healthy conversation. Everybody is on the same page and we’re all going to communicate and work together to get Alex back as quickly as possible,” team spokesman Jason Zillo said. “They’re all back on track.”

But, the New York Daily News has a report speculating that Rodriguez is rushing his return for financial reasons.

The Daily News quotes a source as saying A-Rod will start playing in rehab games and then claim he he is physically unable to perform due to his hip injury and retire so that he can collect the remaining $144 million on his contract that runs for the next five years.

According to the report, a player who retires because he is physically unable to perform, even if later suspended, would be paid in full.

“It’s all about him getting his money and not losing it to suspension,” the source told the Daily News. “He knows he’s never going to the Hall of Fame. All that’s left for him is to make sure he gets his money — all of it.”

“Alex thinks there’s something really off about this situation,” a source told ESPN. “Here we have a doctor declaring him fit to play. You would think they would be happy about that.”

ESPN reports that Rodriguez is convinced the Yankees are intentionally slowing his return so they can have him declared medically unfit to play this season. That would allow the team to collect 80 percent of the $28 million due to him this season through insurance. But this is something you’re probably not going to see on his public Twitter account.

A-Rod.. I kinda think Cashmans F bomb, regarding you, may be a bad sign...

A-Rod shouldnt have tweeted??? Read this.

Yanks' Cashman tells A-Rod to 'shut the f--- up'

Alex Rodriguez and the New York Yankees are not seeing eye to eye on his hip injury.

The star third baseman tweeted Tuesday night that his hip surgeon has cleared him to play in rehabilitation games, a move that angered Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, according to ESPN.com.

"You know what, when the Yankees want to announce something, (we will)," Cashman told the website.

"Alex should just shut ... up," the GM said, punctuating his comment with a profanity.

Cashman added that he planned to get in touch with Rodriguez right away.

The general manager did not respond to calls from The Associated Press.

Rodriguez had left hip surgery on Jan. 16 and has been working out since May at the Yankees' Tampa complex. The three-time AL MVP took swings in a simulated-game situation for the first time on Monday.

On Tuesday night, he posted a message on Twitter: "Visit from Dr. Kelly over the weekend, who gave me the best news -- the green light to play games again!" Rodriguez also posted a photo of himself and Dr. Brian Kelly, who performed the operation in New York.

Rodriguez did not stop to speak with reporters Wednesday when he drove into the team's minor league complex in Tampa, Fla.

"I will continue to work hard until my efforts get me back in pinstripes and help my team win," Rodriguez said in a statement. "The tweet was pure excitement about Dr. Kelly's prognosis."

Cashman recently said Yankees doctors have not yet cleared A-Rod for minor league rehab games.

"I don't tweet, and I really don't follow Twitter. So I probably don't really know much of what is going on. As far as I know he has not been cleared," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Tuesday night after his team's 4-3 victory over Texas.

"There's always a chain of command with injuries. There has to be and that's the process. It goes through our training staff, our doctors and our GM and then it goes to me. I'm down on the totem pole."

Before the game -- and Rodriguez's tweet -- Girardi said Rodriguez "is making progress, which is good."

"He's in sim games until they decide he's ready to go out on a rehab. It's not yet," the manager said.

New to Twitter, Rodriguez sent his first tweet on May 31. He is expected to return to the Yankees around the All-Star break, shortly before he turns 38.

Benched by the team as he slumped through last year's playoffs, A-Rod has been in the news a lot lately even though he has spent almost no time with the Yankees this season. He is among the 20 or so players who may be disciplined by Major League Baseball for their links to the now-closed Miami anti-aging clinic, Biogenesis of America. A first offense under baseball's drug program results in a 50-game suspension and a second in a 100-game ban, but players don't serve penalties for a first offense until after any grievance is decided.

Rodriguez admitted in 2009 that he used performance-enhancing drugs while with the Rangers from 2001-03. As baseball's highest-paid player with a $28 million salary this year, he would lose $7.65 million during a 50-game ban if it is served this year.

The FBI is digging for what???? Who cares anymore???? lol

Officials are searching for the remains of Teamsters union president Jimmy Hoffa in suburban Michigan.

OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Federal agents appeared to be reviving the hunt for the remains of Teamsters leader Jimmy Hoffa on Monday as they searched a field in suburban Detroit.

Robert Foley, special agent in charge of the FBI's Detroit division, said the agency and its partners executed a search warrant in Oakland Township, about 25 miles north of Detroit.

Officials are "here to execute a search warrant, based on information that we have involving the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa," Foley said.

He said the warrant is sealed and that details about what was sought would not be released. Foley did not take questions from reporters.

Hoffa, Teamsters president from 1957-71, was an acquaintance of mobsters and an adversary of federal officials. The day in 1975 when he disappeared from a Detroit-area restaurant, he was supposed to meet with a New Jersey Teamsters boss and a Detroit Mafia captain.

Since then, multiple leads to his supposed remains have turned out to be red herrings.

In September, police took soil from a suburban backyard after a tip Hoffa had been buried there. It was just one of many fruitless searches. Previous tips led police to a horse farm northwest of Detroit in 2006, a Detroit home in 2004 and a backyard pool two hours north of the city in 2003.

In February, reputed Mafia captain Tony Zerilli told Detroit TV station WDIV in February that he knew where Hoffa was buried and that the FBI had enough information for a search warrant to dig at the site. He said he answered every question from agents and prosecutors, and had been promoting a book, "Hoffa Found."

Foley did not mention Zerilli's claims in his brief comments Monday.

Zerilli was convicted of organized crime and was in prison when Hoffa disappeared. But he told New York TV station WNBC in January that he was informed about Hoffa's whereabouts after his release.
