Saturday December 9th Nothin’ Fancy in Vernon hosts the musical event of the year with a quadruple bill featuring the music of four Rock Legends! This amazing show will include the long-awaited debut of Cosmik Debris Orchestra. Come and celebrate the music and genius of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention with a serious collection of amazing musicians. There could not be a finer rhythm section without drummer John Dugan and John Handzel on bass guitar. Just as important are the sidemen, alto saxophonist Nelson Rudiak, Andy Box on keyboard, and Mark Zappavigna (that’s right) playing guitar. Karl VonPäckal expertly and proficiently performs the lead guitar role with clever “variations of the basic theme.” Karen Murphy reinforces each of the vocal elements of these complex works, along with every member of the band. Steve Buzinski is very proud of the association with these exceptional players to support him singing like Frank. The music of legendary power trios ZZ Top and Cream explodes on stage, performed by the local favorite BADDOGG. Billy Carman commands your attention with his elaborate and challenging bass guitar components, and simultaneous singing. Billy is a Frontiers and Artemis Records recording artist with the band COSMO and the super-group BOSTON. Scott Fleming plays lead guitar and sings with John Dugan on drums. Joe Cantarano and Dave Razzano complete this amazing evening of tributes to four rock icons. Their long-running duo performs Grateful Dead songs in appealing and engaging acoustic arrangements. Deadheads always enjoy the liveliness Spanky’s Dilemma delivers, always in perfect harmony. That’s right folks, this Vintage Rock Concert is one-night-only on Saturday night December 9 at the only local honky-tonk designed for live music, Nothin’ Fancy Country Rock Saloon in Vernon. $8.00 Doors open at 7:30. Show starts at 8.
