His brother got all of the musical talent - the only thing Tom ever learned to play was a turntable.
He got his radio start at SU and immediately started spending more time at the university radio station than he did in class.
Faced with needing way more credits than he could possibly earn to graduate on time, he got lucky when his SU radio pals got the chance to start programming a Utica station. The others have gone on to other things or other places, but Tom still calls Central New York home.
After a lotta years with WOUR and a couple programming 93.5 FM The River,
Tom returned to the local airwaves with TheDRIVE.
Being on the only locally owned and operated Rock station suits him. "The focus here is on doing what's best for local listeners and sponsors - not some outside corporation. It's why I got into radio in the first place, so I feel right at home and get to work with people that share a passion for what we do. Everyone on this staff is also genuinely committed to the community we serve. That's really rare in contemporary media."
Hear Tom weekdays from 10am-3pm and Sundays from 4-7pm on TheDRIVE.
