Unless you've been living under a rock for the last ten years, you know Jerry Dee from The Rusty Doves. Jerry Dee is the former upright bassist for The Rusty Doves (2007-2017). This is his solo project. It features Dee on acoustic guitar and vocals performing much of the same repertoire that set The Rusty Doves apart from the rest of the local field- music of the 1920s, 30s, & 40s. The music of this era is timeless, and Dee delivers his renditions with a modern sentiment while still holding on to that old-time sincerity. The Dovetones' repertoire includes standards from The Great American Songbook, swing standards, folk & bluegrass traditionals, jazz instrumentals, eclectic selections from every era, and even some classic Jamaican ska and reggae. Dee transfers the same dynamic energy you've seen from his bass playing in The Rusty Doves to his guitar, translating it into the same percussive and rhythmic style he is known for.
